According to the Catechism (part 1, chapter 1, paragraph 33) the human person discerns signs of his spiritual soul. The soul, the “seed of eternity we bear in ourselves, irreducible to the merely material”, can have its origin only in God. In the glossary of the Catechism, a soul is defined as the spiritual principle of human beings. The soul is the subject of human consciousness and freedom; soul and body together form one unique human nature. Each human soul is individual and immortal, immediately created by God. The soul does not die with the body, from which it is separated by death, and with which it will be reunited in the final resurrection.
At St. Joseph School, we teach the whole person. We strive to form young people, body and soul, who will live productive lives in this world which ultimately lead them to eternal life in heaven. We are intentional in our teaching to form faith-filled and academically strong students who have virtuous moral compasses which are magnetically attracted toward God our Father.
If you have preschool (3 or 4 years old) or school age children in grades K-8, come and check us out. We would be happy to help you enroll your child at any time during the calendar year. If you don’t have school age children, you could support the school in many ways, through volunteering at the school, offering scholarships, offering your expertise to solve a problem, mentoring/coaching academic teams or sporting teams, substitute teaching and much more.
I like to call the work we do “Soul Living” and I invite all of you to engage with us as we educate the minds and souls of the next generation. We are on a journey together. Let’s take a closer step toward heaven each day and take as many people with us as we possibly can!
