Mr. Shawn Sutherland has been blessed by his vocation as an educator for 3 decades. He always finds his work exciting while at the same time he feels humbled to be part of the St Joseph faith community! The kids know him as “Mr. S.” and when he walks into the room the whole place lights up with excitement and joy. Students will call out, “Hi Mr. S.” from all corners of the room. Mr. Sutherland feels that his call to teach and to share his passion and faith with the students and families at St. Joseph Catholic STEM school is truly a gift!
Mr. Sutherland completed his undergraduate work at St. Cloud State University in Physical Education/DAPE and Coaching. He received a Master of Science degree from Minnesota State Mankato in Athletic Administration.
Shawn and his wife Shelli have been married for over 25 years and they live in Chaska. They have three wonderful, faith-filled children. Shaye is following her passion as a teacher in Fort Myers, Florida. Shandon attends the University of Wisconsin – Superior. Shanna is a St. Joe’s alumni and she attends Chaska High School.
In his spare time, Mr. Sutherland loves to golf, weight lift, fish, and spend time with family and friends. At St. Joseph Catholic STEM School, Mr. Sutherland is synonymous with “Joy” and he helps St. Joe’s shine bright with God’s love each and every day!
