Casey Shay

Mrs. Casey Shay is a native of Watertown, Minnesota, and grew up frequenting Waconia on a regular basis. After high school, she obtained an undergraduate B.A. degree in British and American Literature (as well as a minor in theology) from Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH. Mrs. Shay returned to her home state to obtain a 5-12 Communication Arts and Literature teaching license through The University of St. Thomas’s School of Education in Minneapolis.

Mrs. Shay has been teaching at St. Joseph Catholic STEM School since the fall of 2016. She brings an amazing passion for Literacy and Faith to our school as well as our whole community. Casey touches not only the minds but also the hearts of all learners. She adds an indelible mark of beauty on the souls of all who have been blessed to meet her. One cannot avoid approaching excellence when they learn from and with Mrs. Shay.

Casey enjoys teaching faith and language arts classes to middle school students at St. Joe’s. She is inspired by the caring staff, the supportive families, and the joyful students who walk our hallways each day. Among other things, Mrs. Shay loves The Sacred Heart of Jesus, The Immaculate Heart of Mary, long bike rides, mystery stories, peppermint mochas, and just about anything written by J.R.R. Tolkien.
