Matt Kapka grew up in Crystal Lake Illinois. He moved to Cedar Falls Iowa to get his undergrad in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa. He studied Trumpet under Dr. Randy Grabowski and performed with the Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Bands 2 and 3, and Symphonic Band. He graduated in 2021 and moved to Minnesota with his fiancé Maria and began teaching Music and Band in Elk River and Rodgers. Matt is also the band director at St Therese of Deephaven.
In his free time, he loves to go on walks and is learning to ballroom dance.
