Robotics

Robotics is open to all grades 4th-8th. Depending on the numbers 4th and 5th are typically together and 6th-8th are typically together. 

  • It runs from August – February, depending on how far the team advances. Regional Tournament is in November or December, and State is in January or February. 
  • FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is a robotics program created in partnership between FIRST and the LEGO® Group for children aged 9 to 16 (9 to 14 in the US, Canada, and Mexico). It aims to inspire excitement in science and technology while teaching essential life and employment skills.
  • Teams of up to 10 participants build and program an autonomous robot using a LEGO MINDSTORMS® set to score points on a themed playing field. They also develop an innovative solution to a problem as part of their Project, guided by FLL Core Values. These components – the Robot Game, Project, and Core Values – form the basis of the annual Challenge.

Break a leg!

Join St. Joseph Catholic School on a magical journey to Agrabah with our spectacular production of “Aladdin Jr.”! Delight in the enchanting tale of Aladdin, Jasmine, and the unforgettable Genie as our talented middle school performers bring this classic story to life. With music by Alan Menken and lyrics by
Howard Ashman, Tim Rice, and Chad Beguelin, you won’t want to miss this vibrant and heartwarming show. Based on Disney’s beloved film, our production promises lively performances and captivating moments for audiences of all ages.

Examples of past productions are Beauty & the Beast Jr., Matilda Jr.,The Enchanted Bookshop, and Nemo Jr.

Cross Country

In partnership with our local Lutheran schools, we offer cross country for grades 3rd-8th. The season begins the first week of September and will run through October.

Volleyball

In partnership with the SSYO League, we offer girls volleyball for students in grades 4th through 8th. Practices will start in early August, with games scheduled to begin in September. The season is set to conclude at the end of October/ beginning of November.

Soccer

St. Joseph provides soccer programs during both the Fall and Spring seasons!

Fall Soccer:

  • For students in Kindergarten to 3rd grade, the program is organized through Community Education.
  • For those in 4th to 8th grade, participation is through SSYO.
  • Fall soccer takes place from September to October.
  • Spring Soccer:
    • Available for students in Kindergarten to 6th grade, this program is also managed by Community Education.
    • Spring soccer runs from April to May.
