Mrs. Shostedt lives in Carver with her husband, son, and their beloved pets. Originally from Da Nang,
Vietnam, she moved to Minnesota in 1975. She has two children, three pets, and two grand–pets.
She grew up in a small town in the eastern corner of Minnesota and graduated from the University of
Minnesota, Twin Cities campus, with a Bachelor of Science degree in the Foundations of Education. Mrs.
Shostedt is licensed in Elementary Education and endorsed in Middle School Science. With over 25 years
of teaching experience. She was certified as a Groves Learning Organization Certified Literacy
Instructor and recently certified as a Certified Literacy Coach. She is passionate about education and is
excited to share her love for teaching at St. Joseph’s. One of the things Mrs. Shostedt loves most about
teaching is that each year brings new experiences and memories.
Outside the classroom, Susan enjoys spending time with her family, taking walks with her dogs, cooking,
and boating. We are excited to have her join our school community and look forward to the wonderful
contributions she will make!
