Josh Roeser

Joshua Roeser grew up in Delano, MN. He received an undergraduate degree in Music Education at the University of Minnesota, Morris and considers himself fortunate to have studied under Dr. James Carlson and Dr. Clyde Johnson. While at Morris, Josh became the orchestral conductor of the University of Minnesota, Morris Orchestra. Next, Josh took his music teaching career to Australia teaching at Christian College in Geelong, but eventually returned to Minnesota. While teaching instrumental, vocal, and general classroom music in Minnesota, Josh took a sabbatical to complete a master’s degree in saxophone performance at the University of Minnesota. He then continued teaching in public schools until retiring to raise his two children.

Josh has performed at the two most prominent jazz festivals in the world, North Sea Jazz Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival. He was also a member of the house band at the Hard Rock Cafe in Minneapolis while performing at many other venues across the Twin Cities. He currently plays with the West Metro Big Band.

Outside of school you will find Josh camping with his family and traveling.
