St. Joe’s to Partner with Groves Academy in Fall!

At St. Joseph School, we are always striving for excellence, we are reaching for those things that makes us stronger so that our students and families can be assured that they are receiving a great education.  For the past two months, we have been working through a process to develop a partnership with Groves Academy in St. Louis Park.  Groves Academy is known throughout the Twin Cities as leaders in Literacy instruction, especially for those who might struggle with learning how to read.  In February, we applied to be considered as a partner school in a new program that would bring a Groves Literacy coach to St. Joseph for the next three years in order to help us continue to research and implement best practices in teaching reading, not only for those we struggle to learn how to read, but for all early learners.

After several meetings, conversations and agreements, we are thrilled to announce that we have been selected as a partner school for this innovative instructional model.  This is an absolutely amazing opportunity for us, and we are extremely grateful to the Catholic School Center of Excellence (CSCOE) as they are funding it for all three years of this partnership.  Please take a few minutes to watch this short video so that you can learn a bit more about what this means for our K-3 learners. If you feel so inclined to write a thank you letter to CSCOE for this amazing gift, please send it to me and I will forward it the CSCOE office.
